Not very Christian... or is it?
Tuesday. 12.9.08 2:54 am
So, I yelled at my quadmate today. So get this: i am asleep, right? The I hear, "Are you serious?" wait. Maybe it'll go away. "Are you serious?!" and then a boisterous conversation follows about something that I can't hear enough to understand but what I can hear enough to not be able to fall asleep, so I get more and more annoyed with every "are you serious" *drawer open. drawer slam." Until finally they are singing at each other and I decide enough is enough. I marched out, ready to rap on their door and tell them, but my quadmate is the in the hall, as it were, singing to have her roomate open the door. I say something senseless that involved "middle of the night?" "PLEASE be quiet!" and she's all like "I didn't know we were being so loud."

The thing is she probably didn't, but she NEEDS to know that she's being so loud because they are so loud EVERY night! Most nights, I flick on my noise canceller, plug in my earplugs and go to bed, but I don't know what came over me, I just couldn't do it anymore. Now, I am up and angry still and gooolll. Maybe I will come home on Wednesday after all, just so that I can get a full night's sleep!

Long story short though, the whole thing made me feel kind of rotten and I was thinking about how unchristian it was to yell at her, but then a little verse popped into my head. It's from Ephesians 4:25-28 (mostly just verse 26, but I don't want to take it out of context) "25Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body. 26"In your anger do not sin"[d]: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27and do not give the devil a foothold. 28He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need." This apparently, according to note d, ties in with Psalm 4:4 "In your anger do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent. Selah" So then I am confused. They aren't treating me as they, undoubtedly, would like to be treated, so have they sinned and should I call them out on it? I don't know. The bible perplexes me.
